Sewing At A Slower Pace

Come and join my friendly, relaxed weekly dressmaking class. Whether you’re a total beginner or an experienced sewer, you’ll find a supportive space to develop your skills, work on your own projects, and sew at your own pace. With a small group size (maximum of 10), there’s plenty of individual help and encouragement — from me and from fellow sewers.

Monday mornings, 9:30–11:30 (term time only)
The Sewing Shed, Ilkley — with free parking right outside

Bookings are taken in six-week blocks. To book, please contact Leonie at The Sewing Shed and mention the Monday morning class with Becky in your email.

Can’t make a session? No worries, our student WhatsApp group makes it easy to swap sessions with others, so you never miss out.

Private Tuition, Workshops & Events

If you’re looking for more tailored support, I offer one-to-one private sewing tuition from my home workroom, ideal for tackling specific skills, fitting issues, or confidence-building projects. Private sessions are priced at £25 per hour and can be arranged to suit your needs.

I also run small workshops throughout the year, with a focus on hand-stitched mending, repairs, and alterations. Alongside teaching, you’ll often find me at events selling my textiles — you’re always very welcome to come along, have a chat, and ask questions.

To keep up to date with upcoming workshops, events, and where to find me, you can join my mailing list via the form at the bottom of the page.

Questions?

I love sharing my knowledge of hand-stitched, hand-finished garments. I’m here to help others discover the joys of vintage sewing and the art of hand stitching. Please do get in touch if you have any questions.
